Eastern sub-region of the Great Southern (Western Australia) on the isolated granite massif of the Porongurup Range: Riesling is the signature grape with chiselled citrus and granitic minerality; cool-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are highly sought after. Ancient, deep karri loam soils degraded from granite, exceptional drainage.
