The wine region of Waitaki is located in the region of South Island of New Zealand. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Valli or the Domaine Ostler produce mainly wines white, red and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Waitaki are Pinot noir, Riesling and Pinot gris, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Waitaki often reveals types of flavors of cream, oak or floral and sometimes also flavors of vegetal, black fruit or red fruit.
In the mouth of Waitaki is a with a nice freshness. We currently count 11 estates and châteaux in the of Waitaki, producing 33 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Waitaki go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, veal or game (deer, venison).
