The wine region of San Severo is located in the region of Pouilles of Italy. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine d'Arapri or the Domaine d'Arapri produce mainly wines red, sparkling and white. The most planted grape varieties in the region of San Severo are Pinot noir, Nero d'Avola and Primitivo, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of San Severo often reveals types of flavors of non oak, oak or black fruit and sometimes also flavors of apples, honey or earth.
In the mouth of San Severo is a powerful. We currently count 7 estates and châteaux in the of San Severo, producing 38 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of San Severo go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, lamb or veal.

Some Châteauneufs are more reliable than others. When I visit the region to taste the new vintage every year, Domaine de la Janasse’s cuvée Vieilles Vignes regularly features among the best.
