The wine region of Casteggio is located in the region of Lombardie of Italy. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Prime Alture or the Domaine Prime Alture produce mainly wines red, sparkling and white. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Casteggio are Merlot, Pinot noir and Chardonnay, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Casteggio often reveals types of flavors of earth, black fruit or tree fruit.
In the mouth of Casteggio is a powerful. We currently count 5 estates and châteaux in the of Casteggio, producing 19 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Casteggio go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, pasta or lamb.
