Ward of Walker Bay (Western Cape, South Africa) — the highest-altitude appellation (>15 km from the coast) of the Hemel-en-Aarde complex: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Burgundian style among ~20 focused producers. Ancient soils of decomposed granite over rocky clays — a rare geological feature within greater Walker Bay clearly distinguishing it from the lower valley.
