Light, fruity whites with a pale colour, supple palate and medium acidity, showing simple aromas of white fruits (apple, pear), white flowers, citrus and discreet muscat notes. A thirst-quenching style, also made sparkling. Grown in the north-eastern United States (New York, Pennsylvania) and Canada (Ontario), well-adapted to cold continental viticultural climates. The wine region of Hudson River Region

Pioneer New York State AVA along the Hudson north of Manhattan up to Albany. Maritime climate tempered by the valley, harsh winters (-6 C) imposing hardy French-American hybrids. Signature Seyval Blanc as white king: pale straw, vivid and precise with citrus, green apple and a mineral touch. Ample Cayuga White, aromatic Traminette.

The wine region of New York

America's 3rd wine state by volume, striking diversity. Finger Lakes the signature: cool-climate Riesling, dry to off-dry, mineral and lively with notes of lime, apple, evolving petrol and white flowers — a US benchmark. Warmer Long Island for peppery Cabernet Franc and supple Merlot. Hudson Valley (Seyval, Vidal).

The word of the wine: Clos

Plot of vines surrounded by walls. Many Burgundian climates are clos.
