The wine region of Bergerac is located in the region of Guyenne of South West of France. Wineries and vineyards like the Château Tour des Gendres or the Vignoble des Verdots produce mainly wines red, white and pink. After blending, the wine is bottled with a liqueur de tirage (a mixture of sugar and wine) and a yeast (selected yeasts). The yeast attacks the sugar and creates carbon dioxide.
