An interspecific cross between Merlot noir and Kozma 20-3 (also the same parents of Merlot khorus) obtained in 2002 by Simone Diego Castellarin and Guido Cipriani at the Institute of Applied Genomics in Udine, Italy. Merlot khantus is particularly resistant to mildew and tolerant to powdery mildew. Known in Italy ... almost unknown in France and not registered in the Official Catalogue of wine grape varieties.

The wine region of Virginia
Virginia is a state on the eastern seaboard of the United States, located immediately South of Maryland and North of the Carolinas. The state covers 42,750 square miles (110,750 km2) of mountains, valleys and the Atlantic coastal Complex that forms its eastern border. From the Cumberland and Blue Ridge Mountains in the west to the coastal creeks and estuaries in the east, Virginia's topography and geology are varied, to say the least. The word of the wine: Cryo-extraction
This technique was very popular at the end of the 80's in Sauternes, a little less so now. The grapes are frozen before pressing, and the water transformed into ice remains in the marc, only the sugar flows out. As with the concentrators, the "cryo" can also increase bad taste and greenness.
