Discover the grape variety: Prosecco

It is said to be of Slovenian origin, where it is cultivated under the name of Prosekar, also known for a long time in Italy under the name of Glera. It should not be confused with prosecco lungo - although there is a family link - and prosecco nostrano, which is none other than Tuscany's malvasia. Note that Vitouska - another Italian grape variety - is the result of a natural intraspecific cross between Tuscan malvasia and Prosecco. Under the name of Glera, it is registered in the Official Catalogue of wine grape varieties list A. It can be found in practically all of the former Yugoslavia, and more surprisingly in Argentina, but is virtually unknown in France.

The wine region of Juanico

The wine region of Juanico is located in the region of Canelones of Uruguay. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Familia Deicas or the Domaine Familia Deicas produce mainly wines red, white and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Juanico are Tannat, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Juanico often reveals types of flavors of vanilla, coffee or floral and sometimes also flavors of dried fruit, cream or tropical.

The wine region of Canelones

Uruguay's main region north of Montevideo (~90% of national output). National star Tannat: powerful, structured reds with signature notes of blackberry, black plum, violet, leather, tobacco and spice, firm tannins and notable ageing potential — more Tannat planted here than in Madiran, its birthplace. Also round Merlot, peppery Cabernet Franc, spicy Syrah. Fresh saline Albarino whites.

The word of the wine: Vintage (champagne)

It is a champagne made from a single harvest. In principle, we only vintage the great years: 1988, 1990, 1995, 1996... We find more often, now, the very good 2002, and the 2004, a little short.
