Heart of Georgian Kakheti in the Alazani valley, ancestral winemaking in qvevri (buried clay jars) inscribed on UNESCO heritage lists. Saperavi is the signature red (a rare teinturier): opaque and dense with blackberry, black cherry, plum, spices, leather and a balsamic note, firm tannins and lively acidity. Rkatsiteli is the signature white: dry and full in European style, or amber and tannic from qvevri with dried fruit, honey and walnut notes. Napareuli is the most celebrated village.
The wine region of Kakheti
Cradle of amber and orange wines, vinified in qvevri (buried clay jars, UNESCO). Skin-macerated Rkatsiteli whites: signature notes of dried apricot, walnut, honey, orange peel and black tea, fine tannins and controlled oxidation. Deep, tinctorial Saperavi reds with black fruit, plum, spice and firm tannins, age-worthy. Also Mtsvane and Kisi in white, fresh and floral.
The word of the wine: Deep
A rich, complex wine that lingers on the palate and gradually reveals a strong potential for aroma and structure.
