A very old and rare Greek grape variety that is still cultivated to some extent in the Cyclades, particularly in the Santorini archipelago. D.N.A. analyses have shown that it is related to Assyrtiko. On the island of Corfu, a black grape variety called Gaïdouricha is cultivated, but it is not related to Assyrtiko. Gaïdouria can be found in Turkey, but it is unknown in France and in most other wine-producing countries.

The wine region of Mukuzani is located in the region of Kakheti of Georgia. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Winiveria or the Domaine Dugladze produce mainly wines red and white. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Mukuzani are Saperavi, Chinuri and Cabernet-Sauvignon, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Mukuzani often reveals types of flavors of cherry, cheese or tree fruit and sometimes also flavors of dried fruit, floral or black fruit.

Barrels of 220 to 225 litres. The toasting of the barrel to bend the staves (curved boards used to make the barrels) can vary according to the coopers and the demand.
