The wine region of Galilee
Galilee is an administrative and wine region in Northern Israel. Its name is perhaps most widely recognized in the context of Lake Galilee, via its associations with the Bible, but it is now steadily becoming known as a wine region. Under the name of Mansois, it is the main grape variety of Marcillac; it is also one of the important varieties of Gaillacois, where it is called Braucol. It is also used in the blends of other South-Western appellations (Fronton, Lavilledieu, Estaing, Madiran). Syn.: braucol, pinenc, mansois.
