The wine region of Rosé des Riceys

Rosé des Riceys is a still wine AOC for rosé wines made exclusively from Pinot Noir - an anomaly in their home region of Champagne. The wines are produced in and around the commune of Riceys in the Aube department, in the extreme South of Champagne. The wines are quite well coloured and have the characteristic Pinot Noir Aroma of red cherries and Dried herbs. The grapes are pressed as whole bunches after being vinified by "semi-carbonic" Maceration (a more famous Vinification technique associated with the Bright, chewing gum-scented Beaujolais Nouveau wines).

The wine region of Champagne

Champagne is the name of the world's most famous Sparkling wine, the appellation under which it is sold and the French wine region from which it comes. Although it has been used to refer to sparkling wines around the world - a point of controversy and legal wrangling in recent decades - Champagne is a legally controlled and restricted name. See the labels of Champagne wines. The fame and success of Champagne is, of course, the product of many Complex factors.
