The wine region of Choapa Valley

Chile's northernmost wine valley (~400 km north of Santiago) where the Andes and Coastal Range converge at their narrowest point. Stony piedmont soils, cool dry climate. Syrah is the signature red — elegant and smoky with intense blackberry, plum, pepper and mineral notes, fine tannins. Firm Cabernet Sauvignon with blackcurrant and eucalyptus complements.

The wine region of Coquimbo

Chile's northernmost wine region (600 km north of Santiago), covering the Elqui, Limarí and Choapa valleys under a semi-desert climate cooled by the Pacific Camanchaca fog and the Andes. Syrah is the flagship red — intense blackcurrant, blackberry, black pepper, olive and a mineral-saline altitude edge, fine tannins and elegant freshness. Structured Cabernet Sauvignon. Taut Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc with citrus notes.

The word of the wine: Rich

Said of a complex and concentrated wine, whose power suggests a good capacity for ageing.
