White-skinned mutation of Gamay noir, obtained in Beaujolais by Henri Gloriod in the 20th century.

The wine region of Breganze

Veneto DOC on morainic and volcanic hills at the foot of the Vicenza Pre-Alps. Vespaiolo is the signature white king ("wasp grape", indigenous): taut and floral in dry style (green apple, citrus, honey, white flowers), or opulent in Torcolato passito (created 1995) — golden jewel with candied apricot, fig, honey, almond and orange peel. Also broad Tai and Pinot Bianco, round Chardonnay. Supple Merlot, fine Pinot Nero and spicy Marzemino in reds.
