A cross of Cabernet Franc × Magdeleine Noire, France's most planted red variety.

Signature Sauvignon Blanc in lively, nervy whites (citrus, blackcurrant bud, flowers), Sémillon and Muscadelle as backup. AOC (1937), ~1,500 ha, clay-limestone and boulbènes, oceanic climate.
