Fine ageing potential. Absolute star of Cahors AOC on the Lot terraces, where it is called Auxerrois (minimum 70% in blends), and a global conqueror as Malbec in Argentina (Mendoza). Also found in Touraine (Côt de Loire) and the South-West. Autochthonous French variety from Quercy.

The wine region of Guardia Sanframondi
Sub-zone DOC of Sannio (Benevento), Campanian Apennines between the Calore and Sabato rivers. Falanghina is the signature white — taut and floral with citrus, green apple, white flowers and a mineral-saline touch, as still, frizzante and spumante. Aglianico is the signature red — structured with black cherry, blackberry, plum, spices and a tobacco-leather touch, firm tannins. Greco, Fiano and Piedirosso as complements.
The wine region of Campania
Cradle of southern Italy's great wines on volcanic soils. Majestic Aglianico in red: structured, deep and tannic with notes of black cherry, candied plum, leather and spices, sublimated in age-worthy Taurasi DOCG, the "Barolo of the south". Identity whites of Irpinia: opulent Fiano di Avellino (honey, hazelnut), mineral iodine Greco di Tufo, aromatic Falanghina (peach, flowers). Also supple Piedirosso.
The word of the wine: Chopine
Small bottle with a capacity of 50 centilitres.
