The Duchy of Uzès refers to a territory whose history has marked that of wines since Greek times. This county town is also home to an AOC Duché d'Uzès appellation. Under the name of Mansois, it is the main grape variety of Marcillac; it is also one of the important varieties of Gaillacois, where it is called Braucol.
