The wine region of Rosazzo
DOCG within the Friuli Colli Orientali around Rosazzo Abbey (ponca hills, alternating calcareous marls and flysch sandstone, microclimate preserving minerality, DOCG 2011): Friulano is the signature white (50–60%) — mineral and savoury with almonds, herbs and citrus, tense salinity. Sauvignon Blanc (20–30%), Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco (20–30%) as complements, Ribolla Gialla (≤5%); among the most expressive white blends of Friuli.
The wine region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia
Italian benchmark of great whites of elegance and minerality. Emblematic Friulano with notes of fresh almond, pear and white flowers, taut Ribolla Gialla, precise Pinot Grigio, lively Sauvignon and balanced Chardonnay. Rare sweet Picolit (DOCG), saline Malvasia Istriana. Rising reds: fruity spicy Refosco, more tannic Pignolo and Schioppettino.
The word of the wine: Reasoned (agriculture)
Conventional agriculture but concerned with limiting synthetic treatments as much as possible.
