Wines made from Chardonnay grapes of Atacama
Discover the best wines made with Chardonnay as a single variety or as a blend of Atacama.
Whites with many faces: mineral and taut at Chablis (lemon, green apple, flint), opulent and buttery at Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet (hazelnut, brioche, yellow fruits), tense and chalky in Champagne (Blanc de Blancs). Also vinified sparkling and widely exported (Sonoma, Margaret River, Casablanca). A Burgundian variety, a cross of Pinot Noir × Gouais Blanc, half-sibling of Aligoté.
Extreme northern Chilean vineyard at the gateway to the Atacama Desert, Pacific fogs and dry heat. Production mostly dedicated to Pisco (brandy) from Muscat of Alexandria, Pink Muscat and autochthonous Torontel with intense floral-musky notes and exotic fruits. Minority opulent sunny white wines with candied citrus and a saline touch. Native Tamarugal and Pedro Ximénez as complements.
