The wine region of Saint-Leonard is located in the region of Valais of Switzerland. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaines des Virets or the Domaine Marie Bernard Gillioz produce mainly wines red and white. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Saint-Leonard are Pinot noir, Chasselas and Pinot blanc, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Saint-Leonard often reveals types of flavors of earth, cherry or oaky and sometimes also flavors of smoke, red fruit or raspberry.
In the mouth of Saint-Leonard is a with a nice freshness. We currently count 8 estates and châteaux in the of Saint-Leonard, producing 12 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Saint-Leonard go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, veal or game (deer, venison).
