The most planted grape varieties in the region of Rioja Alta are Tempranillo, Chardonnay and Verdejo, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Rioja Alta often reveals types of flavors of cream, rosemary or sweet tobacco and sometimes also flavors of walnut, star anise or black olive.
