The wine region of Melissa is located in the region of Calabre of Italy. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Librandi or the Domaine La Pizzuta del Principe produce mainly wines red and white. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Melissa are Gaglioppo, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Melissa often reveals types of flavors of earth, oak or red fruit and sometimes also flavors of non oak, microbio or vegetal.
In the mouth of Melissa is a powerful. We currently count 5 estates and châteaux in the of Melissa, producing 8 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Melissa go well with generally quite well with dishes of shellfish, vegetarian or appetizers and snacks.
