The wine region of Condoleo

Sub-zone of Terre di Cosenza DOC (northern Calabria, Sila foothills, altitude freshness). Magliocco Canino is the signature red: structured and intense with black cherry, blackberry, plum, Mediterranean herbs and a tannic-saline finish. Gaglioppo and Greco Nero in flavourful blends. Greco Bianco, Mantonico and Pecorello in lively whites with citrus, white flowers and mineral salinity.

The wine region of Calabria

Italy's far south between the Ionian and Tyrrhenian seas, a millennia-old tradition (Greek "Oenotria"). Emblematic Gaglioppo (the "black prince"): sun-drenched reds with signature notes of black cherry, candied plum, garrigue, tobacco, spice and balsamic notes, firm tannins — peaking at Ciro DOC on the Ionian coast. Also fleshy Magliocco, dense Nerello, Greco Bianco in a fresh, almondy white, ample Mantonico. Hot Mediterranean climate, volcanic and clay-sandy soils.

The word of the wine: Maturation

Transformation undergone by the grape when it is enriched with sugar and loses some of its acidity to reach maturity.
