This is an ancient indigenous variety that has been cultivated for a long time in the north-east of Italy, particularly in the Trentino-Alto Adige region, although it has been somewhat neglected. The wine region of Tokaj
Tokaj (formerly Tokaj-Hegyalja) has Long been Hungary's most famous and respected wine region, thanks mostly to its nectar-like, botrytized Tokaji dessert wines. At its very southern edge is the town of Tokaj from which the region and its wines ultimate take their name.

The word of the wine: Rebêche (champagne)
Must obtained in excess of the 2 550 litres authorised for a weight of 4 000 kilos of grapes. The first 2 050 litres constitute the cuvée and the next 500 litres the taille. The rebêche represents 1 to 3 % of the total volume and must be distilled or used to make ratafia.
