Star of Condrieu AOC and Château-Grillet AOC, co-vinified in Côte-Rôtie with Syrah (up to 20%). Widely exported to California (Central Coast), Australia (Eden Valley) and Languedoc. A Rhône variety.

Star village of northern Rheinhessen, famous for the Heerkretz (Grosse Lage VDP), a south-facing volcanic cliff on steep slopes, and the warmer Höllberg. Riesling signature in white: dry and electric, intense citrus, white peach, herbs, flowers and a marked mineral-saline touch, racy acidity and superb ageing. Silvaner and Pinot Blanc as balanced complementary whites. Wagner-Stempel the leading estate.
