Discover the grape variety: Schioppettino

Structured, elegant reds with a deep ruby robe, firm tannins and lively acidity. Intense aromas of black cherry, blackberry, black pepper, spices, violet and balsamic notes. Dense palate, fine ageing potential. Nearly extinct, it was saved in the 1970s by the winemakers of Prepotto and is the signature of Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC and Friuli Colli Orientali Schioppettino di Prepotto DOC. Native Friulian variety; its name evokes the crackling (schioppettino) on the palate.

The wine region of Puligny-Montrachet

Global cathedral of Chardonnay in the Côte de Beaune: Chardonnay signature as the white king (99. 5%) — green-gold with silvery glints, racy and mineral with notes of candied citrus, white peach, white flowers, toasted almond, light honey and signature chiselled gunflint, pure tension and infinite finish. 4 mythical Grands Crus (Montrachet, Chevalier, Bâtard, Bienvenues-Bâtard) and 17 Premiers Crus. AOC (1937), ~210 ha, marl-limestone, ageing 10-30 years.

The wine region of Burgundy

Absolute reference for great terroir wines: opulent, mineral Chardonnay in whites (chiselled Chablis, buttery Meursault, majestic Montrachet), fine and silky Pinot Noir in reds (full-bodied Gevrey, structured Pommard, delicate Volnay). Exceptional age-worthy wines with complex notes - red fruits, undergrowth, butter, hazelnut. Some lively Aligoté and light Gamay (Mâconnais). 29,500 ha, 84 tiered AOCs (Régionale, Village, 1er Cru, Grand Cru), 1,247 UNESCO Climats.

The word of the wine: Burgundy melon

A white grape variety from Burgundy that is not widely used in its native region, but has spread to the Nantes region. It is the exclusive variety of Muscadet. It gives a dry pale yellow wine, supple and lively, with an intense bouquet, to which maturing on lees gives fatness and aromatic complexity.
