The wine region of Chablis Grand Cru 'Bougros'

Grand Cru at the north-western tip of the Chablis hill, south-east aspect: 100% Chardonnay on Kimmeridgian marls and limestone with fossil oysters Exogyra virgula (Upper Jurassic). Lower slope: fuller and rounder; upper slope: more tense and mineral — hallmark balance of power, roundness and minerality. Pale gold, citrus, white fruits, flowers and iodine, evolving to honey and hazelnut with age. Full and precise palate with saline grain, perfect drainage, ages 10-15 years.

Some lively Aligoté and light Gamay (Mâconnais). 29,500 ha, 84 tiered AOCs (Régionale, Village, 1er Cru, Grand Cru), 1,247 UNESCO Climats.
