Discover the grape variety: Refosco ped. rosso

Refosco dal peduncolo rosso is a very old grape variety, certainly finding its first origins in the region of Friuli situated in the north-eastern point of Italy. It should not be confused with terrano or refosco d'Istria, ... the one described here is more qualitative. It can be found in the former Yugoslavia, in Argentina, ... in France it is almost unknown. According to genetic analysis, it is the son of the marzemino, the grandson of the teroldego, the father of the corvina and the grandfather of the rondinella (Pierre Galet).

The wine region of Kartli

The wine region of Kartli of Georgia. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Dora or the Domaine Doremi produce mainly wines white, red and sparkling. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Kartli are Chinuri, Saperavi and Goruli mtsvane, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Kartli often reveals types of flavors of non oak, microbio or oak and sometimes also flavors of earth, vegetal or tree fruit.

The word of the wine: Yeast

Micro-organisms at the base of all fermentative processes. A wide variety of yeasts live and thrive naturally in the vineyard, provided that treatments do not destroy them. Unfortunately, their replacement by laboratory-selected yeasts is often the order of the day and contributes to the standardization of the wine. Yeasts are indeed involved in the development of certain aromas.
