Discover the grape variety: Lercat

Most certainly Pyrenean of Jurançonnais more precisely. It has long been confused with the lauzet, although its leaves are somewhat different. It is practically no longer present in the vineyards, which means that it is clearly on the way out. Published genetic analyses have revealed that it is related to one or more grape varieties, including Courbu Blanc. The wine region of Franken

Franken, or Franconia in English, is a wine-growing region in the northwest of Germany's historic state of Bavaria. Though Bavaria may be more famous for its beer, Franken boasts a proud viticultural tradition and is one of the most unique regions in the country. There are just over 6,100 hectares (15,073 ac) of vines Planted in Franken and around 80 percent of these are white Grape varieties. Here, Riesling plays second fiddle to the often overlooked Silvaner and Müller-Thurgau.

The word of the wine: Cinsault

Cinsault is a southern black grape variety that can be found in the blends of most Mediterranean appellations, but most often as an accessory grape variety. It is undoubtedly most present in certain rosé wines (in Corbières, Côtes-de-Provence, etc.): it gives these wines highly appreciated aromas of strawberry, peach and raspberry. In vin de pays (IGP), it is often vinified on its own, usually as a rosé.
