Aromatic, structured dry whites with a pale golden robe, an ample palate and preserved acidity, showing rare signature spicy aromas (fennel, pepper, cinnamon, anise), white flowers and yellow fruits. A unique profile with a very strong personality. Very rare (less than 1 ha cultivated), preserved by a few Béarnais winegrowers and blended with Lauzet and Gros Manseng in heritage cuvées. Discreet DOC of the Alto Piemonte (Biella, ~25 ha) on unique soils of acidic marine sands rich in minerals over limestone, sheltered by Monte Rosa. Local Nebbiolo Spanna (>=85 %) is the signature red: pale garnet, elegant and linear with intense rose, violet, red cherry, raspberry, liquorice and a superb saline-mineral touch, silky tannins and vibrant acidity. Vespolina and Uva Rara as complements. 22 months ageing, 12 in wood.
