Discover the grape variety: Oeillade blanche

It is said to originate from the south of France, most certainly from Provence. Today, it is practically no longer multiplied, although it is registered in the Official Catalogue of vine varieties, list A1. - Synonyms: oeillade blanche, aragnan or araignan blanc, grosse clairette, papadoux, milhaud blanc in the Tarn. Note that many grape varieties have picardan as a synonym. The wine region of Franken

Franken, or Franconia in English, is a wine-growing region in the northwest of Germany's historic state of Bavaria. Though Bavaria may be more famous for its beer, Franken boasts a proud viticultural tradition and is one of the most unique regions in the country. There are just over 6,100 hectares (15,073 ac) of vines Planted in Franken and around 80 percent of these are white Grape varieties. Here, Riesling plays second fiddle to the often overlooked Silvaner and Müller-Thurgau.

The word of the wine: Botrytis cinerea

This fungus, also called noble rot, develops during the over-ripening phase and is an ally of great sweet white wines, when it concentrates the juice of the berries. It requires the humidity of morning fogs and beautiful sunny days, gives musts very rich in sugar and brings to the wines the famous taste of "roasted".
