Made as young approachable reds, fresh rosés and barrel-aged keepers. The absolute star of Nemea PDO in the Peloponnese (Greece's flagship red appellation). Native Greek variety, one of the most widely planted in the country.

PDO of Greek Macedonia south-east of Mount Paiko (Kilkis district south-west, ~200 ha at >150 m on gentle hillsides, non-irrigated vines, yields ≤10,000 kg/ha): Xinomavro as the autochthonous signature in the king red blend (≥80%) — expressive and rich with aromas of plum, tomato, herbs and tobacco. Negoska (≥20%) as softening complement bringing roundness, colour intensity and chocolate notes, an accessible alternative to Naoussa.
