Star of Trentino Marzemino DOC (notably in the Vallagarina valley, southern Trentino), celebrated by Mozart in Don Giovanni ("versa il vino, eccellente Marzemino!"). Also grown in Lombardy. Campanian DOCG (Sannio) around Monte Taburno, hillside vineyards on clay-limestone and volcanic soils, more temperate and windy than Taurasi. Aglianico signature as red king (≥85%, specific Taburno biotype): powerful and fresh with blackberry, black cherry, plum, violet, herbs, leather and volcanic mineral hint, firm tannins and vibrant acidity — more balanced and fruity than Taurasi or Vulture. Riserva with 3 years ageing. Structured gem of Sannio.
