Wine region west of Yerevan at the foot of Mount Aragats, vineyards at 1,100-1,400 m on volcanic soils. Areni native signature red ("king of Armenian varieties"): medium-bodied with red fruit, cherry, soft spice and floral hints, lively acidity and silky tannins — between Pinot Noir and Grenache. Voskehat native signature white ("golden variety") originating from this region: dry with stone fruit, honeysuckle, pineapple and mineral notes.
