Discover the grape variety: Pinotin

Swiss interspecific cross obtained in 1991 by Valentin Blattner. The parents would be pinot noir and an interspecific variety resistant to diseases and, for others, it would be a cross between cabernet-sauvignon and ((sylvaner x riesling) x (12 417 Seyve-Villard x 7053 Seibel)) see graph www.winogrona.org. No resistance gene could be identified for either mildew or powdery mildew. It can be found in Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Germany, ... still little known in France.

The wine region of Castille-et-Léon

Located in the northern half of the Central Iberian plateau, Castilla y León is the largest of Spain's 17 administrative regions, covering about one-fifth of the country's total area. It extends about 350 kilometres (220 miles) from central Spain to the northern coast. Just as wide, it connects the Rioja wine region to the Portuguese border. Red wines reign supreme in Castilla y León, and the Grape/tempranillo">Tempranillo grape is undoubtedly the king.

Bordeaux ‘Act for Change’ symposium

The focus of the symposium, unsurprisingly, was on the challenges posed by climate change. As if to illustrate the immediacy of the threat, the symposium took place during a heatwave, with temperatures of over 40°C  in Bordeaux and extreme weather events recorded across the coountry: parts of southwest France saw violent storms and winds of 112kph on the evening of 20 June, while vineyards across the Médoc and St-Emilion were damaged by hailstones ‘the size of golfballs’. Bordeaux innovators: Meet the names to know

But new energy in this famous wine region is visible and audible: bees buzz and sheep graze in organic vineyards; brand-new cellars brim with sustainable features and wine fermenting in trendy amphorae; unusual grapes are gaining attention; and the number of women in key roles keeps growing. Yoga among the vines is s ...

The word of the wine: Acidic (flavor)

Acidity is present in all wines, and is essential in white wines. It is due to the presence of different organic acids in the wine, and is expressed in the mouth by a sensation of freshness combined with other elements, such as minerality or a note of bitterness. Moderately present, it brings relief and vivacity to the wine.
