A backbone of the Trebbiano d'Abruzzo DOC, often blended; also found in Castel del Monte and numerous southern and central Italian whites (Latium, Marche, Emilia-Romagna). Native white variety from Apulia.

Accessible, sunny wines: Tempranillo (here Cencibel) in full quality rise, supple reds with notes of ripe cherry, plum and spices; spicy Syrah, firm Cabernet Sauvignon, round Merlot.
