Historic Burgundian variety, a cross of pinot noir × gouais blanc, half-sibling of chardonnay.

Burgundian IGP (Côte d'Or and Saône-et-Loire, 16 communes on the plain 8 km east of Beaune, historic 19th-century vineyard), alluvial terroirs sheltered from the Morvan. Pinot Noir signature in fine, supple red with bright cherry, strawberry, red fruits and a refined floral-spiced note, immediately accessible. Light, moreish Gamay red with red fruits. Pinot Gris in round, aromatic white.
