The wine region of Alsace Grand Cru 'Muenchberg'
Grand Cru in Nothalten (Bas-Rhin), south-facing slope of the Burglitt at 250–310 m in a crescent shape, sandy soils on Permian volcanic sediments 250 million years old, conglomerates, breccias and tuffs, excellent drainage: Riesling is the signature white — precise mineral profile with smoky and flint notes characteristic of volcanic origin, racy salinity. Pinot Gris generous on volcanic soils, Gewurztraminer and Muscat in complement. Rare and unique Alsatian terroir.
The wine region of Alsace
Capital of great French aromatic whites, most often dry and single-varietal. Straight, mineral Riesling (lemon, gunflint), opulent, exuberant Gewurztraminer (lychee, rose, spices), round, smoky Pinot Gris, floral, crisp Muscat, supple Pinot Blanc. Fine, fruity Crémants d'Alsace, exceptional sweet Vendanges Tardives and Sélection de Grains Nobles. 15,500 ha at the foot of the Vosges on varied soils, 51 Grands Crus since 1975.
The word of the wine: Smell
