Ward in the Worcester district (Breede River Valley, Western Cape) in the Nuy Valley at the foot of the Langeberg. Chenin Blanc is the recognised signature white; Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon in reds. Low-rainfall climate irrigated by the private Keerom Dam — the country's largest of its type. Cool winters and springs with periodic snow preserve acidity.
