Powerful, tannic reds with deep colour and tight structure, with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, leather, tobacco, coffee and balsamic-volcanic mineral notes. High acidity and very fine ageing potential, often compared to nebbiolo. Star of Taurasi DOCG in Campania and Aglianico del Vulture DOCG in Basilicata (vines planted on volcanic soils). The wine region of Clairette de Bellegarde
Micro-AOC single-varietal from the Gard (10 ha around Bellegarde at the gates of the Camargue, stony plateau at 60 m, well-drained clay-silica soils). Clairette as exclusive signature white — delicate and expressive with lively notes of lime blossom, acacia, honeysuckle, pear, citrus and a saline-Mediterranean touch; characteristic noble slight bitterness. Evolves with age toward honey and candied lime. Southern sister of Clairette du Languedoc.
The wine region of Rhone Valley
France's 2nd-largest AOC vineyard, two complementary worlds. Northern: pure Syrah in signature reds (Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage, Cornas), deep and peppery with blackberry, violet, black olive and smoked bacon notes, exceptional ageing. Opulent Viognier whites (Condrieu, apricot, flowers) and ample Marsanne-Roussanne. Southern: sun-soaked Grenache blends at Châteauneuf, Gigondas, Vacqueyras (candied fruit, garrigue).
