The Bride Valley Estate is a picturesque vineyard located in Dorset, England, in the United Kingdom. Nestled in the heart of the English countryside, this 10-hectare wine estate is known for the production of quality sparkling wines, which compete with those from the Champagne region in France. The rolling landscape of the Bride Valley Estate is a true postcard of rural England: lush greenery, gentle rolling hills and breathtaking views of the valley. The location of the vineyard is not a random choice. The altitude, chalky soil and the microclimate of the valley are conducive to the growth of grape varieties such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, all three used in the production of their eponymous sparkling wine. The property is owned by Steven Spurrier, an iconic figure in the wine world and a former London wine merchant. In 2009, he and his wife Bella began planting vines on this land, which once served as pasture for sheep. Today, they produce annually about 25,000 bottles of Dorset Crémant and Dorset Rosé sparkling wines. The Bride Valley Estate places great importance on sustainability. Throughout the winemaking process, they work to minimize their impact on the environment and to preserve the natural balance of the valley. For example, they use a gravity fermenter tank system to avoid unnecessary use of pumps, allowing them to produce their wines in harmony with nature. During a visit to the Bride Valley Estate, you can take a walk in the vineyards, discover the traditional process of the Champagne method used for winemaking, and of course, taste the exquisite wines of the estate.
