Discover the grape variety: Solaris

Aromatic, structured whites with an ample palate and moderate acidity, with intense, muscat-like aromas of yellow peach, apricot, exotic fruits (pineapple, mango), white flowers, honey and discreet herbal notes. Made as both expressive dry whites and sweet wines. A very early, mildew- and powdery-mildew-resistant interspecific variety, driving organic viticulture in northern regions (Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, UK). Created in 1975 in Freiburg (Merzling × Geisenheim 6493).

The wine region of Fyn

Central Danish island (Funen), among the most northerly wine-growing zones in Europe, cool maritime climate tempered by the Kattegat. PIWI disease-resistant varieties are the signatures — Solaris and Rondo leading, Souvignier Gris, Cabernet Cortis and Léon Millot as complements. Taut whites with vibrant notes of citrus, green apple, white flowers and a saline mineral touch. Particularly successful traditional-method sparkling wines.

The word of the wine: Provignage

A vine reproduction technique that consists of burying a vine shoot that takes root and reproduces a plant with the same characteristics as the vine to which it is attached.
