Opulent, heady whites, rich and silky, with intense aromas of apricot, yellow peach, mango, violet, honeysuckle and musky, honeyed notes. Discreet acidity, creamy finish. Star of Condrieu AOC and Château-Grillet AOC, co-vinified in Côte-Rôtie with Syrah (up to 20%). Widely exported to California (Central Coast), Australia (Eden Valley) and Languedoc. A Rhône variety.
Umbrian DOC (1981) south-west of Perugia (Deruta, Marsciano, Piegaro), argilo-calcareous hills between the Tiber and Lake Trasimeno. Sangiovese (≥50%) as the signature red — balanced with bright cherry, plum, violet and a spiced-balsamic touch, firm tannins. Trebbiano Toscano and Grechetto as fresh signature whites with white flowers, citrus and a mineral touch. Cabernet, Merlot and Chardonnay as single-variety wines.
