An endemic Georgian grape variety, known since ancient times, it is most regularly found today in the Kartli and Imereti regions. It is practically unknown in other wine-producing countries. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Shida Kakheti are Goruli mtsvane, Khikhvi and Chinuri, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety.
