The most planted grape varieties in the region of Transmontano are Touriga nacional, Touriga franca and Tinta Barroca, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Transmontano often reveals types of flavors of citrus, red fruit or black fruit and sometimes also flavors of nutmeg, chocolate or pepper.
