Whites with many faces: mineral and taut at Chablis (lemon, green apple, flint), opulent and buttery at Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet (hazelnut, brioche, yellow fruits), tense and chalky in Champagne (Blanc de Blancs). Kosovo is a region in southeastern Europe, formerly an autonomous province of the former Yugoslavia. Until the outbreak of the civil war, Kosovo had a large area of productive vineyards. Many of these were subsequently abandoned, and the industry is still in the early stages of recovery. It is a disputed land, claimed as sovereign territory by Serbia but considered independent by the ethnic Albanian majority living there.
