An interspecific cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and a still unknown relative, obtained in 1991 by Valentin Blatter of Soyhières (Switzerland). Cabernet-Jura can be found in Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, etc., but is still little known in France.

Treasury Wine Estates has expanded its footprint in the Yarra Valley in Australia by purchasing the 55-hectare Beenak Vineyard from Accolade in a deal worth AU$7 million. The land is planted with 45ha of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, suited for both still and sparkling wine production. Ex-NBA star Tony Parker buys Château Saint Laurent near Avignon

Basketball legend Tony Parker announced today (17 November) that he has officially purchased Château Saint Laurent, which lies just to the east of Avignon in southern France. Financial details weren’t disclosed, but the move marks a new winemaking venture for Parker, a six-time NBA All-Star who retired in 2019 after a glittering career that also included representing France at international level. Prices rising for top California wines

Prices have been rising on California fine wines, and especially Screaming Eagle, said Liv-ex this week.
