The wine region of Bierzo is located in the region of Castille-et-Léon of Spain. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Descendientes de J. Palacios or the Domaine Descendientes de J. Palacios produce mainly wines red, white and pink.
The most planted grape varieties in the region of Bierzo are Mencia, Tempranillo and Pinot noir, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Bierzo often reveals types of flavors of cream, fennel or nutty and sometimes also flavors of honey, hazelnut or savory. In the mouth of Bierzo is a powerful with a nice balance between acidity and tannins. We currently count 164 estates and châteaux in the of Bierzo, producing 609 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture.
The wines of Bierzo go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, pasta or veal.
Spanish, more precisely from the Duero Valley where it is still very present. According to some ampelographers, it is close to Cabernet Franc.
