The wine region of Overberg is located in the region of Cape South Coast of Western Cape of South Africa. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Lismore or the Domaine Crystallum produce mainly wines red, white and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Overberg are Chardonnay, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Pinot noir, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Overberg often reveals types of flavors of butterscotch, tropical fruit or microbio and sometimes also flavors of vegetal, oak or tree fruit.
In the mouth of Overberg is a powerful with a nice freshness. We currently count 26 estates and châteaux in the of Overberg, producing 59 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Overberg go well with generally quite well with dishes of pork, rich fish (salmon, tuna etc) or vegetarian.

The small island of Gorgona, just off the coast of Livorno, isn’t your run-of-the-mill viticultural area – its main purpose is to serve as a penal colony. Not just any prisoner can reside on Gorgona, however. Up to 90 incarcerated men live on the island at a time, alongside 17 residents and a handful of police officers.
